Top 6 Places to Tailgate for Georgia Tech Football Games

By Annabelle

If it’s your first year on campus or you’re new to watching Yellow Jacket football, it can be hard to know where to go on gameday, both home and away.

On home games, campus floods with a mix of alumni, parents, friends, and enthusiastic students, all geared up to support their beloved team at campus tailgates. For away games, many students have their favorite spots near campus to catch the game with friends.

At Rambler Atlanta, we understand that for many Yellow Jacket fans, the best part of gameday is the community of fans at pregame tailgates and during the game. To help you find your community of gameday fans, we have made this list of student-favorite spots for both home and away football games.

Distance from stadium: 8-minute walk

Each year, many fans gather on the lawns that stretch across Fifth Street Bridge for one of the most popular spots for tailgating on campus. Positioned near several parking garages and decks in Tech Square, it offers convenient access from your vehicle to your tailgate setup and onward to the stadium. On game day, you can find student and alumni tailgates alike set up across both sides of the bridge.

2. Tech Green Lawn

Located at the heart of campus, Tech Green is close to both the stadium and parking garages. This area also serves as the setting for Revelxp, a premium tailgating service offering fans an exceptional game day experience. If this spot has been chosen by industry experts, it must be a prime location for tailgating festivities.

3. Greek Houses

Distance from stadium: 2- to 10-minute walk

Georgia Tech students seeking the classic game day atmosphere with beverages and camaraderie need look no further than the fraternity houses of their peers. Fraternities spare no effort in hosting lively game day gatherings, complete with live music, culinary food and drinks to entertain both their peers and visiting alumni.
